Ring Girl From Tyson-Paul Fight Speaks Out After Going Viral
The blockbuster event, held Friday night at Cowboys Stadium and streamed on Netflix, drew a crowd of over 70,000 fans and was declared a success despite criticism of the main event.
Netflix celebrated the event’s reach in a statement:
“60 million households watched the Paul vs. Tyson main event live around the world, peaking at 65 million concurrent streams. Nearly 50 million households globally tuned in live for the co-main event of Taylor vs. Serrano 2. Additionally, the bout is likely to be the most-watched professional women’s sporting event in US history.”
Although many fans were disappointed with the lackluster fight between Tyson and Paul, one unexpected highlight of the evening was the attention garnered by Sydney Thomas, one of the ring girls.
Her presence caught the eye of viewers, sparking chatter on social media throughout the night.
As her newfound fame grows, Thomas has seen a surge in her social media following and his broken her silence after hew new-found fame.
In a matter of hours, Thomas’ Instagram following went from 236k to over 658k (at the time of writing).
Speaking after the fight, she said: “Getting the opportunity to step into the ring with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul for such a historic fight is something I never imagined I’d be able to say.
